| Najvaznije
sportsko - ekipno takmicenje na Americkim fakultetima, na kraju svake sezone,
predstavlja sampionat konferencije. Konferencija se sastoji od 6-10 timova
(sa fakulteta koji gravitiraju regiji, ali je mogu ciniti i fakulteti iz
drugih delova - drzava Amerike. Tako je na Americkom istoku u sportsku
asocijaciju "America East" udruzeno 7 plivackih timova sa sledecih fakulteta:
UMBC (University of Maryland, Baltimore County), Binghamton, Stony Brook,
Boston University. Maine, University of New Hemisphere... Tokom sezone,
medjusobom organizuju dual-match-eve iz kojih prakticno trenerski bord
sagledava sopstvene mogucnosti i pravi taktiku za sampionat (sva konferencijska
prvenstva se odrzavaju sredinom februara meseca). |

| Od 16 - 19 februara 2006. na bazenu
Bostonskog univerziteta, odrzano je prvenstvo "America East" konferencije...
Pobednicki tim ovogodisnjeg prventsva u muskoj konkurenciji bio je UMBC,
za koji su nastupili Milos Djukic (student I godine) i Nebojsa
Zimonjic (student III godine), dok je za Stony Brook nasupao
Vladimir
Sreckovic (student II godine)... Imajuci u vidu vredne uspehe koje
su sva trojica srpskih plivaca postigli na ovom jakom sampionatu, predstavljajuci
ih na nasem Swim Star Web Portal-u, a za potrebe njihove promocije tokom
daljih studija, uz nase cestitke, ova reportaza realizovana je na engleskom
jeziku. |

| 2004-05: Took bronze in the
100-back, fourth in the 200-back and 12th in the 200-IM at the America
East Championships…finished 15th in the 100-back at ECAC’s…placed second
in the 500-free against Howard…came in third in the 200-back against William
and Mary. |
| Background: Transferred from
the Community College of Baltimore County-Essex after his freshman season...attended
both XI Belgrade High School in Belgrade, Serbia & Montenegro, and
Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, Md….was a member of the International
Student Association and SGA while at CCBC-Essex… has father played professional
soccer in Serbia, and his mother was a Serbian gymnast… guardians in America
are Drs. Andrew and Sharon Whelton…born April 14, 1982…an interdisciplinary
studies major in psychology and math while pursuing a certificate in elementary
education… Zomonjic hopes to become a professional swim coach. |

backstroke at the high school championships in 2004-05…placed third in
the 50-meter backstroke at the Balkan Junior Swimming Championships… MIlos
was a Junior National champion in the 50-, 100- and 200-meter backstroke
in the course of 2003-04…placed second in the 100-meter backstroke at the
National Championships in 2005… He helped lead his team Vojvodina Swimming
Club, Novi Sad, SCG to six consecutive national championships… has two
older brothers, Nikola and Vladimir…born Sept. 28, 1986…majoring in financial
economics. |

| Background: Member of the
2004 Serbian Junior National Team... broke five records in 2002 at Sports
Grammar, Belgrade ... earned two bronze medals at the Balkan Championships
in 2002 ... 2003 golad medalist at the National Senior Championships in
the 200 m breaststroke... Best Sportsman of the HS Class of 2003. Sreckovic
was born February 28, 1984 in the town of Jagodina, Serbia and Montenegro
... Son of Mirjana and Miloljub ... brother of Andjelija. |
