More then 1,300 starts in 38 swim events (500 competitors)...

(Helsinki, FIN)--- More then 500 competitors from 36 countries have arrived the Capital of Finland for the 10th LEN European Short Course Championships (December 07-10) which is going to be held by the marvelous Olympic swim center "Mäkelänrinne"

Mäkelänrinne Center in numbers:

- Competition pool 50 m. 10 lanes, 2 m deep, modifiable by two moveable bulkheads

- Diving pool 25 m 6 lanes, 5 m deep, platforms 1 m- 10 m, 5 springboards

- Leisure pool 168 m2

- 2 Children`s pools 142 m2 and 35 m2

- 2 Cold water pools

- 8 Saunas

- Water volume: 6000 m3 (6 000 000 l) all pools combined

The Mäkelänrinne Swimming Center is the largest swimming centers in Finland and the only one made to international standards. It was opened on 10th of May 1999 and became an instant success with more than 600 000 visitors annually.
